Clay County Hospital extended thanks to its Auxiliary Volunteers last week during the National Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 7th – 13th) with a special luncheon at the NMN Club in Flora. Last year, the Auxiliary contributed close to $5,700 through proceeds from the gift box and annual fundraising efforts. Donations to Clay County Hospital and Medical Clinics included new patient lockers and patient chairs for the surgery department, children’s sensory activity wall toys for two Flora Clinic pediatric exam rooms, and routine upkeep on the electronic charging stations. The Auxiliary also funds annual scholarships to high school graduates in Clay County studying for healthcare careers. “We are extremely grateful for the generosity and commitment of our auxiliary volunteers,” said Emily Milner, Auxiliary Coordinator. “In 2018, our Auxiliary volunteered approximately over 5,167 hours of service.”
Clay County Hospital Auxiliary meets every first Tuesday of the month at the Clay County Hospital conference room at 2:00 p.m. The Auxiliary welcomes volunteers from men and women interested in offering a helping hand. For more information on the mutually beneficial experience of volunteering with the Auxiliary, stop in the Gift Box and speak to a volunteer or contact Emily Milner, Liaison at 618-844-3162.
The purpose of the Auxiliary is to render service to Clay County Hospital, its patients and community, and to assist Clay County Hospital in promoting the health and welfare of the community.
