Description
The EMS Captain serves to manage daily operations for the EMS department with authority to make operational decisions in support of the patients, CCH and county residents. In addition to the role of a patient caregiver and EMT or Paramedic, the EMS Captain will also serve as leadership to their assigned shift, providing coaching, guidance and a level of disciplinary action as needed. Also supports the departmental vision of Clinical Excellence. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the EMS Chief.
The role is full-time, 24/48hr rotating shifts. Pay begins at $18.33 for an EMT Captain or $24.17 for a Paramedic Captain and increases with experience.
HS Diploma or equivalent required along with either Illinois EMT or Paramedic licensure. Plus, CPR, PHTLS or ITLS (and ACLS/PALS if paramedic).
