Ambulance Services
Clay County Hospital EMS, an Advanced Life Support (ALS) service, provides pre-hospital emergency medical services for sick and injured individuals of all age groups (neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). Care is provided without regard to race, creed, sexual orientation or financial status. Emergency care is available on a 24/7 basis and accessed by calling 911. Our staff consists of trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics licensed by the state of Illinois. We staff two ambulances, and utilize the most up-to-date equipment.
What to Expect
EMS staff are trained and skilled providers of pre-hospital emergency medicine. On arrival they will assess your current condition, vital signs, obtain past medical history. Any illness or injury will be treated in accordance with standing protocols under the guidance of our EMS Medical Director and IDPH Region 6. Staff will then transport you to the closest appropriate facility based upon your condition.
Emergency Situations
Have your allergy and medication list up to date or know where they are so this information can be available to the ambulance staff.
Have your 911 or house number clearly posted so they may be seen from the street or road.
If you call after dark, turn on an outside light.
